Comparatives & Superlatives
So sánh hơn (comparative) so sánh giữa hai đối tượng, so sánh nhất (superlative) so sánh trong một nhóm từ ba đối tượng trở lên.
Dấu hiệu nhận biết đặc trưng
Tính từ ngắn (1 âm tiết): thêm -er (so sánh hơn) / -est (so sánh nhất).
Ví dụ thực tế:
✓ He is taller than me.
✗ He is more tall than me.
💡 Tính từ ngắn không dùng more.
✓ This is the tallest building.
Tính từ dài (2+ âm tiết): dùng more / the most.
Ví dụ thực tế:
✓ This book is more interesting than that one.
✓ It is the most beautiful place I've seen.
Bất quy tắc cần nhớ: good → better → best; bad → worse → worst; far → farther → farthest.
Ví dụ thực tế:
✓ Her English is better than mine.
✗ Her English is gooder than mine.
✓ This is the best day of my life.
So sánh bằng: as + adj + as (bằng nhau), not as ... as (không bằng).
Ví dụ thực tế:
✓ She is as tall as her brother.
✓ This phone isn't as expensive as that one.
Cảnh báo lỗi thường gặp
✗ He is more taller than me.
✓ He is taller than me.
💡 Lý do: Không dùng đồng thời more và -er.
✗ She is the most tall.
✓ She is the tallest.
💡 Lý do: Tính từ ngắn dùng -est, không dùng most.
✗ It is gooder.
✓ It is better.
💡 Lý do: good là bất quy tắc → better.
